I’m going to give all the photos a nice place in the text, and I will upload our text + photos on the website.

Family Values
A. Describe a traditional wedding ceremony in a middle class family. Include the way the wedding ceremony has been prepared. Have you ever attended a wedding ceremony yourself?
Every couple is different, so every couple has a different sense of what they want to do and what they don’t want to do on their wedding day. But when you do plan a traditional wedding in the Netherlands you first have to be engaged. Book a place for your reception. Then the man buys a smoking, and the woman buys a (mostly white) wedding dress. Then the woman can name friends, sisters in law or other people as her bridesmaids (mostly women). Flowers are a popular object in the church or at the ceremony itself, the bride has a bridal bouquet that she holds almost the whole day long and there are flowers on the table at the reception. Then you have rings, they are mostly gold and are used to vow the promises to each other and also to have a reminder to their special day, they both get one, reached out by their opposite. The wedding invitations are send to the people who are invited to the wedding day. On the day itself, you go to a local government, to sign a paper that you and your husband/ wife are officially married. After that you make pictures or videos for your scrapbook. Then you can go to the church, if you have a religion. When you leave there you are officially married for the church. Also there’s a feast, after the feast there is mostly a party (reception). Eventually all the guests goes home, and you’ll have a wonderful reminder of your wedding day.
B. Are there any other reasons than love for people to get married?
People get usually married because they are in love but sometimes they get married because they have children and they have together the custody of the child. The children need the support of two parents while they grow up. Some people get married because of the money, they marry an old man with a lot of money because they die fast and the money goes to them and it happens a lot that the woman or man marry again but with someone else they really love. In the Netherlands it isn’t illegal to wed but it doesn’t happen a lot, if it happens it’s probably because of their religion.
C. What is the official role of the local government in the wedding ceremony?
When you’re getting married, you have to be married for the law. So that you and your partner have the same last name. You go there with your witnesses and they are going to sign a paper that says that the marriage can pursue.
D. This question was for the Indian Students.
E. Question for the European Students: People in India might think many peope in Europe don’t get married, but rather just live together, please address this idea objectively. 500 words max.
I think in Europe are more people who don’t get married but just live together than in India. In the past, people in the Netherlands married for the law and in church. Now the church is less important for people here. That's because some people aren't really in need of the church they think they can also a good life without God or the church. The church is just less important for people today, so less people marry in church. Because they don't marry in church, people aren't in need to marry for the law. They can get a cohabitation, than they have the same rights as people who are married for the law. But just living together is a bit easier because they don't have to organise a party or something.
But there are still people who marry in church and for the law, in some cities the church is very important, so people marry in church. And much people love to marry for law, because they are then husband and wife 'for real'. There are also people who just love to give the party and all that.
So there are people who don't marry and just live together, but there are still a lot of people who marry for the law or in church!
F. What is the significance of a wedding ceremony in your country? Is the significance the same for wealthy and less fortunate people?
The significance of a wedding is to show each other you love them and you want to spend the rest of your life with them. The significance is the same but for less fortunate people weddings are smaller because they can’t effort a big wedding. Wealthy people usually want to give a big party with a lot of people and a big cake but less fortunate people don’t have the money for all of that. Some people get forced by their parents to marry someone but that doesn’t happen very often. And some people get forced by the other, the man or woman says something like: Marry me or I will kill you. They threatened by their partner to marry them.
G. hat are the differences and similarities between the significance of a wedding ceremony at the time your parents and grandparents were your age.
There haven’t changed much in a wedding in the Netherlands, there is a lot the same. When my parents were my age, there were very big weddings they called them farmer weddings, there was a lot of alcohol and cigarettes and all the family, friends and neighbors came to the wedding. When my grandparents were my age, it was a lot the same. First you go to the town hall to get married after the town hall you go to the church and have a ceremony, then you have a reception, people can congratulate you and give a present mostly in the evening you can eat something and you have a party. I don’t think there is a lot changed, because you have the official thing about the rings and the marriage register. But when someone propose to the girl or boy, it is not first asked by the parents, it used to be much more. I think that is one of only things that have changed.

Conclusion
H. Draw a conclusion on the main question: Main Question: Is a wedding the most important ceremony in a person’s life? Is getting married the most important decision a person can make?
Yes, we think that the wedding ceremony is one of the most important things in your life. Because being married is a cherry on the cake for love ones. It isn’t the most important decision because buying a house or decide of your having children or not are also important decisions in people’s lives.
